Summary
Morgan and Maud Shurtliffe fall in love and marry, adopting two children from Zenobia Sly's agency in the years before World War II. Morgan serves in the war and continues to maintain contact with Ms. Sly when he returns home to his family and his profession.
Critique
An eloquent and poignantly told novel which takes us through a family's joys and sorrows. Reflects a simpler, old-fashioned time.
