Rose Lloyd thought she had the best of marriages. She and Nathan raised their two children and both had successful careers. Seemingly out of nowhere, Nathan announces that he has taken up with Rose's young assistant and wants a divorce. The author shines in her sensitive and gently humorous portrayal of Rose's courage in inventing a new life for herself. Rose definitely gets revenge, but not in the way readers might expect.
A surprisingly serious novel given its title--much more akin to Elizabeth Berg than to Mavis Cheek. Highly recommend.
