Summary
Set during World War II, this is the story of the summer that Gretchen, a 14-year-old girl, joins the town's paper as a reporter. When a murder takes place in her neighbor's home, Gretchen covers the story. She watches relationships change, the town take sides, and her friends and family deal with the crime.
Critique
Even without the courtroom or racial tensions, this book reads like `To Kill a Mockingbird`. While slightly predictable, it will keep you reading and very interested.
