Summary
Her young daughter is dead; her husband is gone; and just as she thinks she has finally found true love, beautiful, 35-year-old Murmur Lee Harp, owner of a run-down local bar and mixer of mostly good-natured spells, is surprised when she finds herself newly-dead in her hometown of Iris Haven, Florida on New Year’s Eve, mysteriously drowned in a local river. As the story of Murmur Lee Harp’s life unfolds, so does the mystery behind her early death.
Critique
Compelling and touching with elements of magic realism and a host of motley characters. You won't want Murmur Lee's story to end (even though her life has). Funny and memorable, this novel has it all: mystery, intrigue, and romance. Think `Desperate Housewives` meets `Twin Peaks` meets `The Lovely Bones.` Highly recommend.
