Summary
Diana McBride, a 34-year-old compulsive washer whose husband has just left her, is nearing the end of her rope when she encounters the 17-year-old pregnant Jamie. By fortune or some other force, the two women and Jamie's yet unborn daughter, Stella, find themselves linked exactly at the right time for each to save the others' lives.
Critique
A mesmerizing story whose characters and treatment of Diana's Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder seems to ring true. Addonizio's language is a sheer joy to read. While not for everyone, this story of mother-daughter relationships, forgiveness, and fresh starts makes for a quick and satisfying read. Highly recommend.
