Inspector Erlendur is called in to investigate the murder of an elderly man in his Reykjavik apartment. Clues left by the murderer lead down the path of a very cold case, and eventually to the killer.
Don't give up if the first few chapters don't grab you, it's well worth your time. Iceland makes for a distinctive setting, the story is intriguing and Inspector Erlendur an interesting character. I'll be looking forward to further translations of Indridason's work.
