Summary
This novel is a record of Louise’s life in dealing with issues such as young love, drug addiction, death and self worth. The thoughts and reactions of Louise to her experiences tumble quickly onto the page, focusing mainly on the devastation left in the wake of her husband abandoning her for another woman.
Critique
Justine Lévy’s novel is at once simple, complex, confusing, insightful, laughable and sad – but ultimately a celebration of experiencing all of life, because even if happiness isn’t permanent, it is worth everything else.
