Summary
Annie abandoned her art in anticipation of full church membership. However, she defies her family and church by secretly dating Ben Martin, a young man who is not Amish. Annie's `fancy` friend/pen pal Louisa is still living with the Zook family as she falls in love with a young Amish man, another forbidden love.
Critique
A close look at Amish culture and the power of the church. The head of the family is to be obeyed and never questioned. The reader is left with many unanswered questions in book two of the Annie's People series. Recommend.
