Summary
This is the story of Marie Antoinette `Nellie` Courtright as she and her brother help settle the small town of Rita Blanca and the West during the late 1800s and the early 1900s. During her lifetime, she becomes one of the first women telegraph operators, manages Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and was even a witness at the gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
Critique
A fascinating look at the Old West through the eyes of a woman. Nellie is an interesting, gutsy character. The historical figures blend in well with the fictional ones. Highly recommend.
