Summary
Danny travels to a mysterious crumbling and isolated castle in Europe to meet up with his estranged cousin Howie whose renovation plans for the building may include revenge on a skeptical and paranoid Danny. Meanwhile, Ray, incarcerated in a maximum security prison for unnamed crimes, chronicles Danny and Howie's adventures for his prison's writing program and to impress his teacher, Holly.
Critique
A complex and multilayered gothic novel that is hard to put down. Chilling, eerie, and engrossing. Recommend.
