Summary
Amy Haskel, a junior at prestigious Eli University, spends her time studying and readying the literary magazine for publication. Her ordinary life is turned upside down when she is tapped for membership in Eli's most exclusive, secret society for men, Rose & Grave. No one knows why women are suddenly allowed into Rose & Grave, especially middle-class Amy. However, membership does have its privileges and being a power player on campus is appealing. When the Rose & Grave students are stripped of their power, can they outwit the true puppeteers of the society?
Critique
This first novel provides an intriguing glimpse into the world of the privileged members of Ivy League secret societies. References to a certain Ivy League university and an infamous secret society are plentiful. The fast-paced, detailed story line makes up for the not fully drawn-out characters. Recommended read. Although marketed for adults, this title is appropriate for young adult readers as well.
