Summary
Alexander and his physician wife find the decrepit house of their dreams in the Hudson Valley and intend to start a garden, not just any garden, but a horticultural paradise. Trouble is, the deer, woodchucks, soil and vermin combine to put a damper on their plans. The money, time and worry Alexander spends on this plot of land turns out to be a bit more than he and his family expected.
Critique
A humorous tale of man vs. nature with a bit of gardening and food wisdom thrown in, this book offers a look at one man's obsession with growing his own food. A fun, insightful read. Highly recommend.
