Summary
Moving his family to a rundown Caliph's estate in Morocco, author Shah begins to renovate the property to its former glory. Moroccan culture, however, interferes with his plans: gangster neighbors plot to steal the house; jinns, house spirits, must be exorcized; and workers must be 'encouraged' to move a little faster than they are used to.
Critique
With humor and insight, Shah offers us an honest and appreciative look at Moroccan culture. It's great fun to get involved in Shah's house renovation, too! Highly recommend.
