Summary
English professor Alison Bergeron had the worst week of her life - someone stole her car and her marriage was officially over. Good news - the police found her stolen car. Bad news - the body of Kathy Miceli, one of her students, was inside. Alison is obviously a suspect, along with a host of others in the campus community. Enter Detective Bobby Crawford - will he end Alison's bad luck?
Critique
Alison is a refreshing mystery character - one who does not attempt to actually solve the mystery herself. Her relationship with Detective Crawford is at once frustrating, flirty, and humorous. First-time author Barbieri weaves in several characters into this quirky mystery. The ending twist sets the stage for a sequel. Highly recommended.
