Summary
Ex-detective and new millionaire Jackson Brodie is bored when he follows his girlfriend to Edinburgh to help support her in her theatrical endeavors. Jackson is soon relieved of his boredom after witnessing a road rage incident that draws him into a potentially deadly complex series of coincidences involving an assassin, a meek mystery writer, a washed-up comedian, Russian housekeepers, and a corrupt real estate developer and his wife.
Critique
A tightly woven character-driven mystery. An absorbing story that has it all--humor, mystery, parenting woes, and romance, both lost and found. Jackson Brodie is a great hero--for those who like the charming, silent type. Highly recommended reading.
