Summary
Attorney Gina Roake grapples with the challenge of defending outdoors writer Stuart Gordon who, upon discovering the dead body of his physician-surgeon-inventor wife floating in their hot tub, becomes the isolated target of a myopic police investigation and its attendant criminal prosecution.
Critique
While the author is showcasing an associate who has had a minor role in previous works and thus relegating the popular Dismas Hardy character to a cameo appearance, the book can easily stand alone. Lescroart's fluid writing is equally entertaining and engaging, as there are sufficient perspectives to demarcate a measure of suspense. Highly recommend.
