Summary
Josh poses as `Larry` on the Internet to win the heart of Beth. Larry's `Gospel` urges teens to renounce consumerism and live a peaceful life. When his site becomes popular, he wrestles with whether or not to reveal his identity.
Critique
Josh is a bright, interesting teen, but he can't seem to get the attention of the girl he has had a crush on since the sixth grade. So, he cleverly invents the Gospel According to Larry, a web site in which he invokes anti-consumerism, introspection and tolerance. Even Bono, the lead singer of the band U2, is a fan and arranges a rock festival in Larry's honor. When his popularity becomes just too much to handle, Josh wonders whether he should reveal his true identity.
