Summary
Flora Stanza has inherited the controlling share in an auction house that is also partially owned by her distant cousin Charles. As Flora takes an interest in the business, she is firmly rebuffed by Charles and his fiancee. Undaunted, Flora throws herself into learning about the auction house and village life but is soon surprised and confused by her growing affection for Charles.
Critique
A lighthearted story with endearing characters. Not quite on the level of Fforde's previous novels but still enjoyable. Recommend.
