Summary
A wealthy Yemeni sheik has a plan to bring salmon fishing to his people, and British fisheries scientist Alfred Jones has been 'persuaded' (against his better judgment) to assist. As the British government becomes involved and Alfred's marriage dissolves, Alfred finds himself becoming a true believer.
Critique
Told through a series of diaries, interviews, e-mails and memos, this first novel mixes a wacky plot, vivid characters and political spin to give readers a laugh-filled ride. Highly recommended.
