Summary
After losing her five-year-old daughter to meningitis, Mary Baxter agrees to join Big Alice's Sit and Knit group, a group of women who have also lived through painful experiences. As she knits through her grief, losing her husband in the process, Mary also uncovers why her mother has always been so cold and distant.
Critique
This is a moving story, somewhat predictable, but beautifully written with interesting characters. Mary's voice is what is so gripping; her grief process is heart wrenching and her journey so real.
