Summary
The four Stoddard women struggle to survive on a small, dilapidated Texas farm during the 1920s and 1930s.
Critique
This is the author's second novel and inspired by her conversations with people who had lived in Texas during the 1920s and 1930s. The author's use of language and her descriptive passages bring that difficult time and desolate, depressed area to life for the reader. Highly recommend.
