Summary
When sixteen-year-old Naomi falls down the steps of her high school, she loses her memory of her life past age twelve. It was at this age that her mother left the family and had a child with another man. Naomi must relearn all of the relationships formed past this point, and, in doing so, is forced to reevaluate them.
Critique
This is a moving, unique story of a girl who loses her memory at a critical time in her life. Zevin portrays teenage characters with beauty and flair. The ending may seem a bit pat, but the story will attract any teen or adult reader who likes romantic drama with a pinch of amnesia.
