Summary
Hired to ghostwrite former Prime Minister Adam Lang's memoirs after the previous ghostwriter has committed suicide, our narrator joins Lang, his wife and his entourage on Martha's Vineyard in order to whip the incomplete text into order. There, he becomes enmeshed in the accusations of war crimes against Lang and finds that the memoirs hold secrets that make the previous ghostwriter's suicide suspect.
Critique
Taking aim at Britain's support for the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Harris writes a political thriller laced with satire and modern day politics. A page-turner with a twist of an ending, this is a great read.
