Summary
When her Uncle Victor takes 14-year-old Sym on an unexpected trip to Antarctica, she is at first thrilled to be finally experiencing her dreams. Sym soon realizes her uncle has his own dangerous agenda when he steals her away with a couple of Norwegian filmmakers in the Antarctic wilderness to find a portal into a world within the earth--the mythical Symmes' Hole. Sym realizes that no one is as they seem. She must cope with abandonment in a most strange and unforgiving landscape.
