Summary
Towner Whitney inherited her Salem, Massachusetts family's psychic abilities, including the ability to see the future by `reading` lace. After suffering life-changing events, a damaged Towner flees to California for a fresh start. When her Aunt Eva disappears in Salem, Towner returns home, where her past catches up with her.
Critique
This novel has lots of twists, turns and surprises with something for every reader--suspense, a bit of romance, and family intrigue. The descriptions of Salem, the surrounding islands, and sailing are fascinating, as are the explanations of lace reading. Highly recommend.
