Summary
Juliet Ashton gained fame during the war for writing humorous columns in English newspapers. Now she'd like to write something more scholarly, but finds herself distracted by correspondence with her new found friends on the Guernsey Islands. Each letter paints a picture of how life was during the German Occupation and how life is now. The more Juliet learns, the more she wants to know and the Guernsey writers are eager to share.

Critique
Each and every one of the characters comes to life through their letters. This story is a wonderful mix of historical fact and human emotion. Once you pick it up, you won't want to put the book down. Highly recommended read.
