Summary
Thirty-fourth in the line of succession, Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie is penniless and alone in London with no servants. She must support herself for the first time. To make her life even more difficult, her family's estate in Scotland is threatened by a Frenchman. He plans to take possession to pay off an old gambling debt left by their father, who committed suicide. When the Frenchman is murdered, Georgie's brother is the prime suspect. As Georgie works to clear his name, several attempts are made on her life.
