Summary
Fresh from the police academy, Swedish Detective Kurt Wallender's daughter Linda is immediately thrust into a murder investigation when her best friend, Anna, disappears. Mankell's Wallender is a crusty old detective of the old school who has neglected his personal life, including his daughter Linda. This novel follows the conflicts and partnership that ensue now that she has decided to follow in her father's footsteps.
