Summary
Spenser is tasked with a hazy mandate to escort a fabulously wealthy, and already seemingly well-protected, mother of the bride to her daughter's wedding. When the indefatigable private eye is unable to avert several murders and the concurrent kidnapping of the bride, the climate is ripe for an all-out effort to find the girl.

Critique
Parker has his groove back, or so it would seem to loyal but anxious Spenser fans, as an engaging plot is at last carried aloft by the author's familiar trademarks of sassy dialogue and succinct writing. Recommended.
