Critique
This is the third book in a series featuring Smokey Barrett, but can stand alone. I've never read the first or second book, but I'm taking them home now. McFadyen adds a lot to his story through in-depth characterizations of the main players, making the reader really care about them. The focus is very psychological in nature, more about the thoughts and feelings of the characters rather than shocking the reader with violence and gore.
