Critique
At first glance, Sempel's characters are fascinatingly shallow and despicable, but as they grow and change, they become genuinely worth spending time with. Ultimately, this book is about the lengths people go to to find and feel love. Compelling and emotional reading laced with bittersweet humor. Highly recommend.
