Summary
One would think that English professor Alison Bergeron would have enough on her mind with her class schedule, her adorable dog, her meddlesome friends, and her handsome boyfriend, NYPD detective Bobby Crawford. When Alison meets an Ecuadoran family at a local soup kitchen where she volunteers, she becomes involved in their problems. Their nephew is missing, and it seems he was involved in forging green cards for workers at a nearby construction site. Alison knows Bobby is working on the case, but she just can't resist doing a little investigating herself.

Critique
This third in the series takes Barbieri to the head of the cozy mystery class. It is hard not to laugh out loud at the almost slapstick antics of Alison. The mystery provides danger, flirtation, humor, and touching moments of friendship. Highly recommend.
