Summary
Valentine Roncalli hopes with all her heart to take over the Angelini Shoe Company that her family founded in 1903 in Greenwich Village. Her passion in life is designing the beautiful wedding shoes the company is famous for. When her grandmother reveals the company's financial distress, Valentine realizes it is up to her to save the business and the creative life she loves so much.

Critique
This is the exuberant first in a planned trilogy by Trigiani, and she definitely starts the series off with a dramatic flourish. Romantic and heartwarming, yet a very realistic depiction of three generations of an Italian American family. The cover art is absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend!
