Summary
Aspiring journalist Rose Nowak breaks up with her two-timing boyfriend and moves to Cape Cod, where she finds a new `family` with friendly but unstable Val, ferocious Cooper and autistic painter Noel. Soon, she is wrapped up in the mysterious disappearance of Cooper's son and a possible romance with Noel's uncle, Simon, a recovering alcoholic who has returned to the Cape to sober up and be a good uncle to Noel.

First time novelist Bonasia has written a tender small-town story with quirky but endearing characters and a unique setting. Its mix of humor and sorrow feels just right. Recommended.
