Summary
Wise beyond his years, Vermont Sheriff Lucian Wing feels downright fatherly to the people in the 17 small towns he sheriffs. When Wing finds Russians causing problems in his neck of the woods, he's reluctant to turn the big, beefy, local lothario known as Superboy over to them--with good reason. Unfortunately, Superboy has something the Russians want, and they are unafraid to hurt anyone in order to claim it.

Critique
This slim novel is packed with clever writing and dark humor and is hard to put down. Sheriff Wing is an introspective narrator with old school values and charm, living in a modern world. Castle Freeman delivers everything a reader wants in a hero and in a fantastic book. Highly recommend.
