Summary
In this retelling of Shakespeare's King Lear, the King's pint size fool, Pocket, is the brain behind reuniting England after Lear foolishly divides it amongst his treacherous daughters.
Critique
Moore mixes the Middle Ages, modern British slang, and a whole lot of mayhem to convert the tragedy of Lear to a rip-roaring comedy. Be forewarned: Fool is bawdy, profane, and deliberately offensive, but it is also clever and fun. The narrator of the Book on CD does an amazing job with the cast of characters. Highly recommended!
