Summary
Valeria is a bad-tempered and feisty spinster who is not loved by her neighbors in their small isolated Hungarian village. One day, Valeria finds herself attracted to the local potter, a widower. Unfortunately for Valeria, after a night of passion, she discovers that he is already involved with the local barmaid, Iboyla. Whom will the potter choose?
Critique
This tale of second chances at love has an old-fashioned, folktale quality about it, but with some rough language and sex scenes, this book may not be for every reader. Quick reading. With a delightful and dynamic cast, these characters once touched by love, change in front of the reader's eyes.
