Summary
Adelia is summoned by King Henry II to investigate two skeletons found at Glastonbury Abbey. Henry wants Adelia to prove that the skeletons are the remains of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere so that the Welsh will no longer talk about Arthur coming back to free them. Intrigued but wary, Adelia agrees to find out what she can, but the truth is nearly the death of her.
Critique
A woman doctor respected by a trailblazing king is just part of what makes this entertainingly original story so interesting to read. This might be the third in the series, but it can be read separately if you don't mind missing out on the previous good story lines. Recommended read.
