Summary
Henry Archer, a retired gay man living in New York City, decides to reunite with his stepdaughter Thalia, whom he hasn't seen since her childhood. Soon Thalia moves in and Henry gets mixed up in her new job as a fake girlfriend to an up-and-coming movie star. He also reconnects with Thalia's mother, his unstable ex-wife Denise, who has recently lost her husband and is trying to fix Henry up.
Critique
Lipman's dialogue sparkles with wit and affection, and the warmth she has for her characters and their hopeful search for romance and family connections make this book a great read.
