Summary
When April's brother Buddy is killed in a car accident, April blames herself and slips into a deep depression, begins drinking heavily, and makes poor choices in her love life. Meanwhile, Oliver, April's constant childhood companion and now a straight-laced law school graduate, moves back to town with his fiance in tow. Despite Oliver's commitment and April's fragile mental state, the two find themselves, as always, drawn to one another.
Critique
A beautiful and sad story of grief, family, friendship, and love. This suspenseful and sexually charged novel will keep you turning the pages with hope for a happy ending for these damaged players. Highly recommended.
