Summary
Kate Burkholder, the young Chief of Police in rural Painters Mill, Ohio, left the Amish community years ago because of a terrible secret. When a serial killer starts butchering both Amish and 'English' young women in her jurisdiction, Kate can't help but think these murders are linked to her past.
