Summary
Game warden Joe Pickett tries to track down April, his foster daughter. Joe believes April was killed six years earlier, but now his older daughter begins to receive mysterious text messages from her. As his search intensifies, he realizes that these text messages are connected to a series of murders that have been occurring across the United States. How is April involved with these murders?

Critique
This is the author's ninth novel featuring Joe Pickett; each one is better than the last! Joe is a well-developed, interesting character who truly struggles to do the right thing for his family and for his job. The author includes some fascinating information about carbon footprints. Look forward to more in the series. Highly recommend.
