Summary
Callie is part of the popular clique known as the `I Girls` (all their names, except Callie's, end in `i`), which is why she has kept her friendship with the new girl and social misfit, Amanda Valentino, a secret. When Amanda disappears after implicating three classmates in an act of vandalism, she leaves behind a series of cryptic clues and messages for the trio. As the three begin to work together to find their missing friend, what they learn about her from each other raises more doubts and questions than answers.
Critique
Inivisible i is the first book in a proposed eight book series. The mystery is interesting, and the story touches on a number of common teen themes, including friendship, cliques, and individuality. What makes this book unique is the interactive aspect of the story. Readers can log on the Amanda Project website and play along, contribute stories, and share their theories about where Amanda went. Recommended read.
