Summary
Stella Hardesty is a widow and survivor of domestic violence who owns a sewing shop in a small Missouri town. In her spare time, Stella exacts her own special brand of revenge on behalf of local battered women. Her latest client is Chrissy Shaw, whose ex-husband, Roy Dean Shaw, has just taken off with Chrissy's two-year-old. Stella discovers that Roy Dean has taken up with local mobsters, but against her better judgment, she enters into dangerous situations to try to get Chrissy's baby back.

Critique
Stella is tough as nails--a spunky and memorable character. Rumored by the local community to be a husband-killer, Stella does little to correct this image. Killer crime fiction! Highly recommend.
