Summary
Bess, a World War I nurse, promises a patient that she would deliver his dying message to his family, a mysterious message that she feels both honor bound and frightened to deliver. After his family seems to ignore the message, Bess takes it upon herself to discover the truth, risking her own life in the process.
Critique
First in a new series by this mother/son team, this novel's heroine is a character worth cheering for. Determined, honest and brave, I look forward to reading more installments in this series.
