Summary
While considering college choices, eternally pessimistic Quentin Coldwater is mysteriously invited to enroll in Brakebills, an exclusive magic school. Once there, Quentin finds plenty of time for recreation while he attempts to learn his specialized 'discipline,' along with the rest of his class. Obsessed all his life with a series of books about the magical world of Fillory, Quentin has the upper hand on his classmates when they are called to travel to Fillory to have an adventure.
Critique
This `Harry Potter` for adults explores mature themes including sex and drugs. An enjoyable though uneven novel.
