Summary
Everyone in Candor, Florida is perfect because of the subliminal messages played everywhere. Only two people know about them. One is the town’s founder. The other is his son, who secretly works to fight the Messages. For a price Oscar Banks helps people escape the town and the messages. Everything goes according to plan until Nia arrives and Oscar's well-controlled world starts to fall apart.
Critique
Candor is a disturbing commentary on conformity and the lengths to which people will go to achieve perfection. Oscar is not always likable, but he is real and honest. The ending is shocking and creepy and leaves the door open for a sequel. Recommend
