Summary
This is Bloom's third collection of short stories and includes two sets of interconnected stories within it. One of these revolves around a set of couples, Clare and her husband and William and his wife. After years of friendship, Clare and William find themselves falling in love. Another set of stories is about Julia, her complicated relationship with her stepson and her extended biracial family.
Critique
Desire, curiosity, need, regret, and above all, mystery, surround these stories about love. They are beautifully written, heartfelt, funny, and perfectly observed. Highly recommend.
