Summary
Like the vintage dresses in the consignment shop she works in, 15-year-old Veronica is an original--an overweight girl with her own unique look, style, and taste in vintage clothes. Over the course of one summer, Veronica learns that it's truly okay to be herself, and she also learns important lessons about first impressions and first loves.

Critique
A winning coming-of-age read. Veronica is a fabulous character who learns how to navigate through teenaged life while dealing with everyday peer pressure. With some adult content and situations, this book is not for younger readers, but mature tweens and teens will come away from reading this book with an overall positive message. Recommend.
