Summary
Rosie Daly never showed up the night she and Frank Mackey were supposed to run away to England. Frank assumed he had been dumped. Heartbroken he walked away from his home in Faithful Place and didn't look back for over twenty years, until Rosie's suitcase turned up in an abandoned apartment unit. Frank returns to the neighborhood and family he left behind in order to uncover what really happened to his first love.

Critique
Past and present are interwoven in this compelling third novel by French. This story is as much about the Mackey family and their history as it is about the murder investigation. The characters are well developed, the dialogue colored with Irish slang, and the descriptions of the setting so vivid readers will feel as if they are in Dublin. Highly recommend.
